President Robillon signs up for standard certification.

Saturday was World Environment Day 2010 and also the day on which the National Council confirmed its commitment to quality and the environment. Initiated by Monaco's parliament in 2009, the process for qualification has now officially started. Immediate actions include:

• everyone issued with a guide on how to be environmentally responsible
• website section reporting progress
• raising awareness with suppliers
• visitor satisfaction survey

The certification process integrates the international quality (ISO 9001) and environment (ISO 14001) standards and on completion, the National Council will be the first European parliament to obtain the double label.
