New humanitarian aid associations

The annual meeting between the Government, Monegasque NGOs, and associations active in humanitarian aid, was held on Saturday 13th March 2010.

Frederic Platini, Director of the DCI, announced that 9% of the 10 m euros Official Development Assistance for 2010 was to be allocated to Monegasque NGOs.

Five new associations presented themselves:

  • Armenia’s Children’s Fund
  • Namaste
  • Walking for Kids
  • Lions Club Monaco

An update was given on two projects that involve joint working between Monaco’s associations network and the Government: Monaco Collectif Humanitaire and Monaco Collectif Haiti. For Haiti, close to 700,000 euros has been raised to help with reconstruction projects.
