New yacht club construction delays

Completion is likely to be a year later than planned.

Delays at the new Monaco Yacht Club construction site mean that completion of the building is likely to be delayed to Spring 2013. Work on the 18,000 m2, 200 metre long club house started in June 2008, with a consortium of construction companies including Engeco, Sobeam and SGTM.

The delay is caused by problems in excavating the foundations. Noise and vibrations from blasts carried out in the rock were found to be intolerable, so engineers have resorted to using drills.
