Local paper Nice Matin reports today that Pope Benedict XVI might visit the Principality.

In October 2009 Prince Albert received a private audience with the Pope when he visited the Vatican. Pope Benoit XVI has been invited to Monaco by the Palace and the Archbishop of Monaco, but due to a busy schedule, he will not be able to make the visit before 2012. Catholicism is the state religion in the Principality.
