Recent speculation that a Russian billionaire would finance Monaco FC were confirmed earlier this week.

AS Monaco's President announced on Tuesday that Dmitry Rybolovlev is to take a majority shareholding in the Principality's struggling football club. Accompanied by Rybolovlev's representatives, Etienne Fanzi said that discussions were going well and that by the end of 2011, the Russian tycoon would become a shareholder.
