iGaming success

The 1st edition of iGaming Exchanges expo and conference concluded successfully on Wednesday.

Organized by Monaco Mediax, the event gathered together online gaming industry executives, and handed out awards. Clocking up 395 participants representing 221 companies, a healthy 84% of exhibitors had reserved well in advance.

Much of the discussion revolved around the recently liberated French market, with executives speaking out against high taxation and low limits on player payouts. French-licensed operators' profits are taxed at 40%, which many feel makes the market unattractive. There's also a regulatory limit of 85% on what operators are allowed to pay back to players. Designed to protect the consumer, some believe it has the opposite effect, tempting players to use foreign sites. Regulators were also urged to clamp down on illegal operators.
