Hotel de Paris and Metropole Hotel gain an extra star.
Monaco's hotel classification scheme has introduced a 5 star category, bringing it into line with the French system. Surprisingly, the Hermitage hotel remained a 4 star. Under the new rating scheme, 5 star hotels may not have more than 200 rooms, and the Hermitage has 280. Other hotels in the Principality are choosing to stick with 4 stars in order to attract the conference crowds. Notably, medical business visitors are not allowed to stay in 5 star hotels.
