Step aside for Mont Charles de Monaco

Most of the fashion houses packed their bags at the end of Paris Fashion Week last Friday, but one company stayed on.

Monaco's very own luxury fashion brand, Mont Charles de Monaco, is remaining in Paris at its recently opened boutique in Galeries Lafayette. The company's exclusive handbags are perfectly at home beside in-store neighbours Cartier, Chanel, Hermes and Dior.

Mont Charles de Monaco is a young company, fast acquiring a reputation for exquisite luxury handbags. The boutique inside Galeries Lafayette is just another step in the brand's rising fortunes. Timed to open during Paris Fashion Week, the in-store launch was supported by a joint catwalk show and party with designer Christophe Guillaume, and a stand in the fashion trade exhibition.

But if you can't make it to Paris, Mont Charles de Monaco bags and clutches are available from the company's online boutique. Everything is hand made, with only 20 copies of each model available, so you may have to go on a waiting list. And handbags are just the first in a long line of product categories planned for the exclusive, luxury brand. Belts, jewellery and silk scarves are already being developed, and future plans include clothing, perfume, eyewear, and even a men's collection.
