The National Council's think tank for the future of Monaco met for its 4th working session at the end of June.

Monaco 2029 was established earlier in 2009 to consider the future of Monaco (see our story). The result of this most recent meeting is an agreement on the main points that will form its White Paper. Members also validated a document summarizing the Principality's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) which will help determine the project's major proposals for Monaco's development. These will focus on 2 axes. First, the need to enhance the attractiveness of Monaco for its residents, and second, the need to share the Principality's prosperity in some way with its economic neighbors through appropriate fiscal partnerships.

The think tank is reviewing about 70 projects over summer, ready for their next meeting at the beginning of September.
